First - Please check the posting picture with sizes to make sure your axe fits! This sheath is designed specifically and exactly for the Husqvarna 26 in. Curved Handle Multipurpose Axe. It is made out of raw cowhide and later stained with Neatsfoot oil. The sheath is handmade in Spokane, Washington. The construction of the sheath starts with three pieces of leather: the main body of the sheath, the securing strap and the welt. The main body is folded over a welt that is inserted into between the two folded halfs which prevents the blade of the inserted axe from cutting the stitch that is placed to hold the sheath together. The sheath is then hand stitched and steel rivets are placed at the corners to reinforce the body. The axe head blade, when placed in the sheath, is prevented from touching the rivets because of the welt. The retention strap is then secured with a steel rivet and a steel snap is added for easy on/off action. This sheath is built to last, and quality hand made in the USA (Spokane, Washington).
