We have continued to explore new possibilities for unconventional tea while adhering to traditional production methods. As a result, we have become a favorite among our many customers in Japan.
- Using supercritical carbon dioxide, which is also used to decaffeinate coffee beans, this pioneering technology preserves the key components of matcha.
- The caffeine content is reduced from over 3% to just below 0.4%, but the flavor and health benefits of matcha are retained. Catechins and L-teanine, important flavor and functional components, are maintained at nearly 100% after the process.
- This product is made entirely in Japan, from cultivation to processing into tencha, decaffeination, and grinding of the matcha.
- During the decaffeination process, the chlorophyll content changes slightly, resulting in a subtle change in color. Also note that it is NOT caffeine-free, with approximately 4mg to 8mg of caffeine per cup (2g).
