Technician's Note: When replacing the glass gauge, always inspect the upper and lower gaskets for signs of brittleness or cracking. A new seal is essential to prevent slow leaks at the gauge connection. Hand-tighten the retaining nuts first, then use a wrench for a final 1/8 turn; over-tightening can easily shatter the glass.
